About Carroll County Energy

Carroll County Energy is a 700 megawatt, natural gas fired power generation facility in Carroll County, Ohio. The facility is on 77 acres of land located one-half mile east of Ohio 9 and 2.5 miles north of Carrollton and it is adjacent to Carroll County Community Improvement Corporation land that is designated for industrial and commercial development.

Carroll County Energy began commercial operations in late 2017.  The facility features two GE 7F.05 gas turbines and an A602 steam turbine which has the capacity to generate electricity for approximately 750,000 homes in south-east Ohio.  Delivering clean electricity to the merchant power market, Carroll County Energy generates power into the regional power transmission organization otherwise known as PJM.

Carroll County Energy is owned by a consortium of equity investors that include Advanced Power, TIAA, JERA, Ullico and Prudential.  Ethos Energy Group is operating the facility and Advanced Power will continue its role in Carroll County Energy as an equity partner and asset manager during operations.
